Sneak Peak at Hilltop at Falls Ridge

Falls Ridge is the new name of an area called Schuylkill Falls. It was a former high-rise public housing project found a block away from Kelly Drive and the Falls Bridge. Like the most high-rise public housing, it went to disrepair and was demolished.
What has taken its place is an interesting social experiment. The new style of public housing is town homes. The thinking is that if you give someone a house, they will turn it into a home. Well, here in East Falls they decided to put townhouses for low-income people then build next to it, market rate housing.
The downside to the place is its lack of notice. When I tell people about it, the common reaction is "Where's that?"  This hideaway may also be prove to crime considering it borders on the low-income areas. (not just its PHA neighbors but East Falls at large.) I hoping for the best on that one, so we shall see.
Westrum, after two years is finally finishing up its Hilltop at Fall Ridge Development. This open house showed off three of four styles to choose from. The lowest starts at $385,000. Here are some views.

Or at least the bedroom. I was pleased by this room the most on a number of factors such as color, use of space, texture. I remembered to disregard the fake food lying around and dove into the catered nibbles. Feastivities Events catered the event. They are fantastic people, best at their game.

I am really intrigued by these water basins. They seem to be becoming all the rage. Many of the ones I have seen have been these over sized bowls near a facet, but this pans out like a lilly pad and isn't very deep. It might make of an interesting shave in the mornings. The only drawback to these basins I am told is their slow drainage time. I do like the look all the same.

The staff were very helpful, many seemed surprised a journalist would take interest, especially one of us weekly publications. They must have known I was coming because the parting gift everyone received was a Martini shaker and glass. Just in time for the Holidays.

UPDATE: Should have posted this sooner but there was a power outage at my office, plus being short staffed I am running around everywhere getting things done. Will have more things later today.
