I am preparing to see Amahl and the Night Visitors performed this evening at Roxborough High School. The performance is open to the public for a $10 donation. I am not familiar with the opera per se but I do know the people performing it. The Delaware Valley Opera Company have been in Roxborough for almost 30 years. They have recently been kicked out their longtime home, the Hermitage Mansion, by their landlords, the Fairmount Park Commission.
THis year begins a new chapter in their saga. They have been taken into the heart of Roxborough High, which has looking to boost its art and music departments. This should be an interesting time. I hope to have some pictures for you tomorrow.
